Service Application

An application for membership and for service is required from all Members. A separate application for service may be required for each point of delivery. The Cooperative may require a written application for service.

The Member shall pay the membership fee to become a member of the Cooperative and be bound by the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the Cooperative and by such Rules and Regulations as may, from time to time, be adopted by the Cooperative. A non-refundable service charge shall be paid on all service connects in the amounts shown on the Cooperative’s schedule of Charges and Deposits on file with the Louisiana Public Service Commission.

Operation Round Up
Operation Round Up Charitable Foundation (ORU) is a non profit 501(c)(3) community assistance program founded by PRECO. Simply stated, ORU is local dollars meeting local needs in the local community.

Funds are raised by “rounding up” monthly energy bills to the next whole dollar. On average, each member contributes about $6 a year. Grants are awarded to needy families and worthy community service projects for basic needs related to food, shelter, medical, clothing, education and the environment.

By submitting this request, I, the above named individual (hereinafter called applicant) hereby apply for membership in and agree to purchase all electric energy for the requirements of the premises for which this application is made from Central Alabama Electric Cooperative (hereinafter called Cooperative). The information given herein is to my knowledge correct. 

The applicant for membership or the Member should bear in mind that the Membership Agreement provides that the Member will abide by all Bylaws of the Cooperative and all Policies, known as Service Rules and Regulations, adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Cooperative. Various Bylaw provisions and policies apply to many different specific problem areas. A copy of the Member Policies is available upon request.
